The 110th (The 4th in fiscal year 2023) SANKEN TECHNO SALON
SANKEN TECHNO SALON is a forum for exchange between SANKEN, Osaka University and the industrial world, with lectures on SANKEN’s research results and other topics, as well as for exchanging opinions and getting to know each other.
【Summary】
For a long time, the majority career path in Japan was that if you worked at a university, you stayed at the university for the rest of your life, and if you worked at a company, you continued to work at the company for the rest of your life. Recently, however, career paths have been diversifying, with an increasing number of people moving from companies to universities and vice versa.
This year’s Techno Salon will bring together people who have transitioned from business to academia and from academia to business, and ask them to speak candidly about their backgrounds and experiences, delving into the cultural differences between academia and business as places to work.
We have gathered lecturers who are veterans in terms of age but have experienced diverse career paths. We hope that the lectures will be helpful not only to those who are considering a career change in both academia and companies, but also to those who are on the recruiting side. Furthermore, we aim for the lectures to help companies and academia aim for fruitful collaboration in the future.
