The 10th Hokkaido University, Cross-Departmental Symposium
Special Lecture by Prof. Amano

The Research Institute for Electronic Science, Hokkaido University is pleased to announce an event.


Hokkaido University holds an annual Cross-Departmental Symposium, which aims to help young scientific researchers from inside and outside the university to further accelerate their research and conduct unprecedented fusion research through effective Expanded Joint Research Programs, regardless of the field. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the conference.

The symposium, to be held on Friday, September 6 this year, will feature Prof. Hiroshi AMANO, the 2014 Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics for LED research, and will be attended by faculty members from 38 departments of the University as well as young researchers from outside the University.

Location: On-site at Frate Hall, School of Medicine Centennial Hall, Hokkaido University and online via Zoom (hybrid event)

We have asked Prof. Amano to prepare this special lecture for the general public and young researchers, including junior high and high school students.

Everyone is welcome to attend free of charge, and we encourage all specialists in fields other than LEDs and semiconductors, as well as junior high and high school students interested in science itself, to attend.

English interpretation will be provided, so not only Japanese but also non-Japanese are welcome to attend.
